CLUBS AND ORGANIZATIONS
Lee Early College offers students a variety of clubs and organizations. The purpose of these clubs & groups is to help enrich the high school (and college!) experience by providing extracurricular opportunities for the student body, as well as ways for parents be involved with their student's academic career. Clubs are offered school year basis and are dependent upon faculty sponsorship and student involvement. Students and parents are encouraged to take part in this aspect of school life!
STUDENT GOVERNMENT ASSOCIATION (SGA)
Lee Early College has an active SGA. SGA has helped organize many exciting events including Block Parties, Formals, Prom, Activity Days and School Socials. The 2008-2009 SGA Board includes:
- President - Hillary Akers
- Vice President - Angelika Orlowski
- Treasurer - Shakeel Harris
- Secretary - Ariel Hickerson
- Historian - Avery Blockmon
YEARBOOK
The Yearbook club was developed to create and design the annual LEC yearbook. Students in the club work to improve their skills and then apply them to the final publication. Being a part of the club is a commitment as it requires students to donate their time and skills to the book. It also requires time outside of class and school to take pictures, write stories, and work on designing or editing all on a deadline. All is worth it, though, when the final product comes out!

NATIONAL SENIOR BETA CLUB
The Lee Early College Beta Club chapter recognizes LEC students who exhibit good academic and behavioral standards. It is nationally recognized by universities and colleges, and is seen as a tremendous honor. LEC's Beta Club is active in several service projects for the school and community.
- The Beta Club Advisors are Tonya Comeaux and Darline McDowell
THE INTERNATIONAL CLUB
The international club explores cultures via discussions and culinary field trips; it also participates in community and international outreach projects. The club gives students the opportunity to broaden their international and cultural horizons. Members of the international club are looking forward to the possibility of some international travel this summer.

STUDENT AGAINST DESTRUCTIVE DECISIONS (SADD)
Students Against Destructive Decisions, formerly Students Against Driving Drunk, provides students with intervention and prevention tools to deal with the issues of underage drinking, drunk driving, drug abuse and other destructive decisions. SADD also empowers students to create change and control their behavior in a way that encourages them to make healthy life choices.

SCIENCE OLYMPIAD
The Science Olympiad Club is a competition that consists of individual and team events. The events focus on a variety of science topics including biology, physics, chemistry, earth science and more. Events require members to build things, apply knowledge, solve problems, or recall factual information. Students in the LEC Science Olympiad club will compete in regional competitions at area colleges.

SPORTS CLUB
Everyone needs activity to stay healthy. The Sports club offers several activities to get student's hearts pumping, including basketball, soccer, touch-football and dance.

BRAIN GAME
The Brain Game club is new this year at LEC. It follows the format of the Brain Game show on WRAL-TV. It operates much like a quiz bowl, composed primarily of questions and answers on all topics of human knowledge. Content for the game typically comes, however, from the courses taken by ninth and 10th graders. Members of the Brain Game Club are currently preparing to compete on the Brain Game TV show in February 2009.
